13 - GODZILLA VS. MEGALON

RELEASE - 1973 // DIRECTOR - Jun Fukuda

KAIJU - Godzilla, Jet Jaguar, Megalon, Gigan

After decades of disturbance from nuclear bomb-testing, an ancient Atlantis-like civilisation known as Seatopia is awoken and, seeking vengeance, they send forth their beetle-like deity (God knows why sea-people worship a beetle but there you go) Megalon.

Meanwhile, a trio of bumbling inventors in the Japanese suburbs (one of which is a child) have managed to create the most advanced robot ever constructed. It can talk to monsters and grow any size it wishes and its name is Jet Jaguar.

It goes to battle with Megalon, but can’t quite manage it. Soon the battle turns into a 2-on-2 fight to the death, as Godzilla joins Jaguar, and Gigan joins Megalon!
